“Hay Superstar” is the Armenian version of the popular international singing competition “Pop Idol.” It first aired in Armenia in 2006 and quickly became one of the country’s most-watched shows. The program gives talented singers from across Armenia a chance to showcase their voice and compete for the title of the nation’s top superstar. Contestants are judged by a panel of professionals and also receive votes from the public. “Hay Superstar” has helped launch the careers of several well-known Armenian artists.
